On-line Action Plan

The Commonwealth Government's Government On-line Strategy requires that Government Agencies develop and publish on-line action plans on their respective websites. The following is FRDC's On-line Action Plan:

Objectives

  • To improve FRDC business practices and efficiency
  • To provide low cost, quality, online services that are easy to use by any member of the community
  • To improve relationships with all stakeholders
  • To provide an environment where customers choosing to transact with FRDC online can do so at any time

Strategy - Short Term (before 30 June 2001)

  • Sell research publications and other products online
  • Provide a search engine on publications
  • Provide three tiers of summaries of publications from 1990 onwards and titles of publications only before that date

Strategy - Medium/Longer Term

  • Provide dial-in access to the FRDC LAN for staff use when travelling
  • Provide electronic notification of upcoming milestone due dates to researchers
  • Accept applications over the web from research providers to undertake research
  • Reconciliation of credit cards
  • Bank statements directly ported into the financial system
  • Provide web-based training in selected areas
  • Provide an educational resource for schools
