The Food Chain Program aims to build food industry skills, capability and knowledge in value chain management to drive the international competitiveness of the Australian food industry. The $10 million, five-year program supports initiatives and activities to achieve this objective. It is increasingly apparent, in Australia and overseas, that a business model directed at achieving customer satisfaction at the end of the chain can deliver improved returns to all chain participants. This is based on the reality that the only person who puts a dollar into the chain is the end consumer. Everyone else in the chain is looking for a share of that dollar. |
