Non-Executive Directors


Applications are sought for part-time, non-executive directors who are suitably qualified to provide strategic stewardship to the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) for terms up to three years.

FRDC is a rural research and development corporation, jointly funded by the Australian Government and the Australian fishing and aquaculture industries. It operates within the portfolio of the Australian Government Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management.

FRDC’s mission is to act as a national thought leader, facilitating knowledge creation, collaboration, and innovation to shape the future of fishing and aquaculture in Australia for the benefit of the Australian people.

Applicants must have high-level knowledge and experience in at least one of the following fields:

· Commercial fishing or aquaculture processing

· Natural resource management and conservation

· Marketing

· Environmental and ecological matters

· Technology transfer and commercialisation

· Science

· Public administration

· Economics

· Administration of research and development

· Finance

· Fisheries and aquaculture technology

· Business management

· Recreational or charter fishing

· Communication

· Indigenous customary fishing



Remuneration and allowances for directors are prescribed by the Australian Government Remuneration Tribunal.

Applicants are asked to provide career and personal details (3-page maximum) addressing the areas from the above list in which they have skills and experience.
