Objectives

1. To evaluate the suitability of the Biocoil type tubular photobioreactor for the culture of algal species identified as being important to hatcheries
2. To determine the optimal large-scale culture system for each algal species and evaluate the economic feasibility
3. To determine the best harvesting and concentration method for each algal species
4. To determine the best manner of further processing, preservation, packaging, storeage and transport of concentrates of each algal species and blends thereof
5. To carry out growth and survival studies of pilot production algal concentrates compared to equivalent algal culture diets
6. Preparation of a business plan for commercialisation
7. Prepare user-guidelines for the adoption and utilisation of algal concentrates
