Under its Statutory Funding Agreement (SFA) with the Commonwealth Government, the Fisheries Research & Development Corporation (FRDC) may be required to commission a periodic independent review of its performance. The intent of the review is to ensure FRDC is meeting the requirements of the 'Performance Principles' established by the Agreement.
Essentially, these Performance Principles require FRDC to engage effectively with its stakeholders; to conduct research, development and extension, and marketing, projects that deliver benefits to the fishing and aquaculture sector; to collaborate with related organisations including other research and development corporations; to be efficiently managed; and to demonstrate positive outcomes.
The full terms of reference for the review, including the Performance Principles, can be found here.
A team comprising Forest Hill Consulting (Scott Williams), Miracle Dog (Russell Pattinson), Poimena Analysis (Chris Wilcox) and Rural Analytics (Dr Alex Ball) has been commissioned to undertake the 2024 performance review of FRDC. The review team is keen to gain input to the review from any individual or organisation that works with FRDC. Submissions may be made in writing or by request for interview. All submissions and discussions will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
Please contact Scott Williams at scott@foresthillconsulting.com.au. Submissions or requests for interview should be received by 15 March 2024.
