Need

The only MAC/Fisheries Management training available to the industry has been offered through the Australian Maritime college (AMC) in Tasmania. Distance, time and cost factors make it essential for this type of training to be made available in WA.

Objectives

1. To present a two-day seminar/workshop for potential/newly appointed MAC members.
2. To give participants an overview of the topical issues concerned with the running of a MAC.
3. To give newly appointed MAC members a broader understanding of their role and responsibilities whilst serving on a MAC.
4. To give confidence to potential MAC members to help them overcome initial apprehension of what may be expected.
