FEEDBACK/STORY SUGGESTIONS Dempsey Ward Communication Coordinator +61 2 6122 2134 dempsey.ward@frdc.com.au

FRDC’s Annual Stakeholder Survey is now open, giving you the opportunity to provide feedback on FRDC’s processes, systems and overall value.

The Annual Stakeholder Survey helps FRDC gain insights on our performance, identifies areas for improvement and gain new perspectives from a cross-section of our stakeholders.

The survey reflects FRDC’s continual commitment to understanding the needs of our stakeholders. Last year, over 400 participants provided their anonymous feedback, that was instrumental in shaping our investment priorities.

The survey is independently undertaken by Intuitive Solutions – a professional market research company – on behalf of FRDC.

Reflecting on Past Insights

The 2023 FRDC Stakeholder Survey provided crucial insights. While many stakeholders were positive about FRDC’s performance, areas for improvement were identified.

Nearly 20% of stakeholders thought FRDC was responsible for political lobbying and fisheries management – both activities that FRDC cannot fund. This insight highlighted the need for FRDC’s Stakeholder Engagement team to create awareness about what FRDC does do – but just as importantly – what we are not responsible for.

Recognising a gap in stakeholder awareness of FRDC's comprehensive services, FRDC have expanded their communication efforts. This includes hosting webinars, facilitating online discussions tailored to specific stakeholder groups, enhancing social media presence, and distributing frequent EDMs to complement investment calls.

The establishment of FRDC’s Regional Extension Officer network initiated in 2022, is also continuing to inform and engage directly with stakeholders, boosting awareness of FRDC’s resources and activities as well as increasing adoption of the FRDC investment outcomes.

This increased communication and extension effort is a testament to FRDC’s focus on measuring the uptake of research and development outcomes, along with the impact of investments.

Your Voice Matters!

By participating in the survey, FRDC stakeholders are contributing to a brighter future for all fishing and aquaculture stakeholders.
