Ready to make waves in the seafood industry? The FRDC’s 2025 National Seafood Industry Leadership Program (NSILP) is now accepting applications, offering a transformative opportunity to sharpen your leadership skills and connect with up-and-coming seafood visionaries.
Since its inception in 1999, FRDC’s NSILP has cultivated a strong network of over 400 graduates who have taken on leadership roles across the seafood sector after building their skills and confidence.
NSILP is funded by FRDC and is led by Director of MI-Fish Consulting, Heidi Mumme, with assistance from Jodie Ford. It is the only national fishing and aquaculture sector-specific leadership program in Australia.
The program aims to develop skills and capacity at three levels: personal, business, and national. The program brings together a diverse group of professionals, aquaculture operators, supply chain experts, government researchers and more. This diverse mix fosters a rich learning environment and encourages cross-sector collaboration.
FRDC's investment in NSILP aligns with our broader commitment to building capacity and nurturing leadership within the fishing and aquaculture sectors.
Capability and Capacity Manager Sally Roberts said the program, now in its 25th year, was essential to encourage emerging leaders in the seafood sector.
"NSILP provides a unique platform for individuals to develop their leadership skills, connect with industry peers, and gain a deeper understanding of the seafood sector. The program's emphasis on diversity and inclusivity ensures that a wide range of voices are heard and valued.”
By participating in NSILP, individuals will gain the tools and knowledge they need to become effective leaders and contribute to the prosperous future of the seafood sector.
We want you! Applications are now open for 2025.
