“There are lots of different jobs and options available. It’s not just about getting your hands dirty!” says Elle Todd, who joined her multi-generational family business Westerberg Seafoods as an office administrator before creating a value-added, diversified range of ready to eat Sardines!

“To someone that doesn’t know much about working with fishing nets, I always describe it as ‘dressmaking’.”  

Commercial Fisherman and Moreton Bay Netmaker Mike Soady has been trawling the seas for 46 years. Over this time, Mike and his trusty skipper and son Jason Soady, have focused on enhancing their net designs and increasing their efficiency to reduce bycatch.
