Corona Virus image With the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic continuing to impact parts of the country where FRDC has staff (ACT and NSW), the FRDC would like to assure its stakeholders that FRDC is continuing to function as usual. We are taking a considered approach and actions to support global containment efforts of COVID-19 and to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all our people.

The FRDC appreciates that the pandemic is continuing to take a toll on many of our stakeholder, through its disruption to businesses and lives. We hope you all remain safe at this difficult time. 

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic remains a fluid situation, that is impacting all aspects of our lives, with varying impacts across Australia and the world. The FRDC will review and update its policies and actions as often as needed, providing updates via this site. Below are the key areas we are updating:

  • A report by the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) and funded by the FRDC analysed how COVID-19 affected the seafood industry in Australia between January and June 2020, with the aim of using this knowledge to prepare the sector for future shocks. A follow up report is currently being prepared.
